About the Press
Open Christian Press is the scholarly publishing arm of Open Christian University and works in partnership with the Center for Faith and Work. The Press publishes intellectually serious, ethically responsible and carefully developed books that contribute to scholarship, education, professional practice, Christian thought and public understanding.
Our publishing programme includes scholarly monographs, edited volumes, academic textbooks, professional handbooks, Christian educational works, research reports, conference proceedings and selected institutional publications. Principal areas of interest include biblical and theological studies, Christian business and leadership, education, artificial intelligence and technology, ethics, philosophy, culture, public policy, faith and work, and interdisciplinary scholarship.
Open Christian Press is committed to responsible editorial assessment, transparent review processes, accurate bibliographic metadata, clearly stated copyright and licensing arrangements, and the preservation of the scholarly record. Publications are evaluated according to their purpose, originality, intellectual contribution, quality of evidence, methodological integrity, ethical soundness, coherence and suitability for their intended readership.
The Press recognises that different types of books require different forms of quality assurance. Scholarly monographs and edited volumes may undergo independent external peer review, while textbooks, professional works and Christian educational publications may undergo editorial, pedagogical, theological or specialist review. The review process applied to each publication is disclosed transparently.
Open Christian Press supports both open-access and commercially distributed publication models. Depending on the publication agreement, books may be issued as downloadable digital editions, EPUB editions, paperbacks, hardcovers, print-on-demand editions or combinations of these formats.
Our mission is to advance faithful scholarship, responsible publishing and global access to knowledge while serving scholars, educators, professionals, Christian communities and the wider public with intellectual humility and integrity.
